Distelfink Instrumentals was requested for movie and television distribution by Mint 400 Records, and published on Youtube.com on Saturday, June 11th, 2016. Chris Lee plays the electric guitar, the acoustic guitar, the bass, and the drums. Evan Pope plays the electric guitar, the acoustic guitar, and the drums. It is featured on the free music site Ziklibrenbib on May 24th, 2023. They describe it as "acoustic and soft electric instrumentals, with folk music gems" such as "Third Floor Statue," and "Missing Parts." The Libraries of Trévé Hémonstoir Saint-Maudan Saint-Caradec, and of Mimizan, in France, also featured it later during the week. On Friday, June the 2nd, the independent news magazine Micros-Rebelles featured three songs, "Salt," "Sweet Sixteen," and "Third Floor Statue" during the weekly news hour. The show was also broadcasted on Arras, France's radio station F. M. 99.9, and on Dunkerque, France's Meet F. M. 93.3, later that evening. Beginning on August 21st, it was the Album of the Week, at the Haut Jura Saint Claude library, in France, who suggest "Third Floor Statue," and "Sweet Sixteen." The artist Plague of Grackles incorporates parts from "Sweet Sixteen" in Sugar's track "Sweet Seventeen," and it is described as "dreamy, and lush."

The acoustic guitar is a Yamaha AC3R. The nylon string acoustic guitar is a handmade Stagg Classic. The electric guitar is a Fender Stratocaster, and the amplifier is an Orange Crush. The cymbals, and the hi-hat are Zildjian. The drum heads are Remo Ambassador Coated, and the kick drum is a Aquarian Super Kick II. The drum sticks are Vic Firth. The microphone is a Blue Snowball, and a Bluebird. The mixing speakers are M-Audio AV 40. It was recorded at Prospector Studio in Nutley, New Jersey, 07110, and in Union City, New Jersey, 07087. The mixing is by Chris Lee, with additional mixing by Evan Pope, and the mastering is by Chris Lee, made between March 9th, until December 29th, 2014, with Acoustica Mixcraft Version 5, and the instrumentals were mixed in the Summer of 2016. The front and the back cover photography, and the design are by Chris Lee.
